I'm not dead
We've just been really busy these last few days. At first it was a huge bomb dropped on us, we found out that our house just barely fit on our lot because of a change made by the city of Durham. You can imagine how pissed I was at first, I chewed the ass off of some civil servant in the Recorders office, but the we decided we weren't going to take it laying down and did some serious house hunting. We actually found a place in Wake Forest (which is a slightly further drive) but it has almost the exact same layout as the one we wanted. The big difference is that this one is in a predominantly white neighborhood, the schools rank among the highest in the state, and we get a fully usable quarter acre! The price didn't change much, it will probably be about 4 or so grand more expensive, but I think it'll be worth the money.
We could have gone cheaper, but that adds another ten miles of driving to work every day. I don't usually like to get too religious on people, but I have to think that it was the lord at work here. I did pray many times that we make the right decisions and that the lord show us the right way and we were quite confused when the house fell through, but the for us to so quickly find another place that was practically identical, just in a MUCH better area was too big a sign for me to ignore. We filled out all the "Mutual Release" forms today, once the community manager signs it then we're officially free and clear of them. We'll sign with the new company probably wednesday. So now I suppose we'll have to start all over with the pictures! Lucky you...
