Aches and pains
I hope everyone had a great fourth of July, ours was simply awsome! At first we were going to stay at home and go see the fireworks in Cary, but we decided to go see Joni's cousin in Charlotte and had a blast there. Technically he lives in South Carolina, but it's just barely over the border and is more of a Charlotte suburb. Nonetheless, fireworks are perfectly legal in SC and I made sure to take advantage of that fact. We bought about $60 worth of fireworks just to keep our selves entertained between shows. As fun as they were, we probably didn't need them as EVERY neighbor had fireworks, and some had the big boys. You know that noise that a firwork makes at the professional shows when the morter first comes out of the tube...well that noise surrounded us and the sky stayed lit up until well after midnight! Between the three of us, we drank a case and a half of beer, grilled out and relaxed....but alas I knew it had to end.
Yesterday we put in a tile floor in Jason's kitchen. We worked on it from 9 am until about 8:30pm and actually just about finished the whole job (all that's left are the molding and transitions). We used this new snap together ceramic tile stuff from Lowes and at first I didn't like it one bit as I am used to using real tile with real cement, these are still real tiles, but they come on a backer board that you snap them together and don't have to cement them down. It turned out pretty nice and might have even saved a few hours...Our new camera isn't here yet so I coudn't take any pictures, but we'll be back in business soon!
