Homeward bound!
State College, I'm comin' home baby! We were
just informed that we will be getting the tickets we requested for the
Akron game! They actually had two extra and after confirming with
Jamie, he'll be bringing Kristin. It's so exciting, even if it is
Akron. When we went to the bowl game two years ago we got so
excited that we'd be able to sit for an entire football game, only to
find that we were surrounded by students who were all to excited to
stand the whole game. So that didn't work out, but this time
we'll be surrounded by fellow alumni who I'm sure will want to sit, AND
we'll be on the "Penn State" side. If you're not a student or
have never been to a PSU game we have sort of a call and response that
happens throughout the game. One half of the stadium yells "We
Are" and the other half answers "Penn State". It may not sound
that exciting, but when you are talking 110,000 people screaming at the
top of their lungs it's a sound so powerful it can be heard from about
a mile away. Not to mention scares the shit out of the opponents
(mainly the ones who've never played in front of such a crowd).
The only thing now is lodging, we were planning on staying at the Penn Stater or Nittany Lion Inn, but they appear to be booked solid! Bastards! Joni is looking now at the other hotels, and I think she found one as cheap as $129/night, but there the budget motels that jack thier prices up just for the games. So Jamie or Kristy if either of you have floor space let us know and we'll bring an air mattress and buy you dinner!
