Still heard nothing on the permit front, I wish they would just give us a yes or no.  I think technically we are a little early as they told us to leave 90 days for permits and it has been at most 45.  I suppose I can't be that upset if they weren't in this batch...but I still want them to get their asses in gear. 

I spent alot of time last night talking with Jenny, she is an underwriter for GE (General Electric) mortgage.  She finances HUGE corporate deals where they are underwriting loans for millions and in some cases billions; needless to say she's a good person to talk about for mortgages.  She called the lender we are going to go with and got all the details on the different programs and made sure that we are in the best possible program.  After about an hour of talking about the plans we decided that we are on the best plan for us right now, but in five years we may end up refinancing to lock into a better rate (or if the rates go back up we'll be ok!)

I keep drooling over Dell laptops, I don't know why I torture myself by continually pricing them.  I have a laptop from work, which is by no means a slouch.  P4 2.4GHz, 512MB RAM, 40GB HD, DVD/CDRW, Toshiba.  I don't mind it, but I know I don't get to keep it forever.  I got it when my boss bought a new one, but they are planning on hiring a "Business Development" person who will need to be more mobile then I.  I'm sure if I make enough stink I could get one from them just for me, but then it wouldn't be exactly how I wanted it...such is life. 

I've also been looking at the iMac notebooks lately.  I'm a huge *nix person and am more comfortable there then I am on windows (and most of you know how good I am on windows), but macs are so intimidating to me...I've wanted one for a while especially since they've released OS X which is loosly based on Unix.  I don't think it would take me long to master it, but to drop 2K on something I'm clueless about...I just can't bring myself to do it.
