So I have this Gmail account, which is basically Hotmail on steroids, and I have to admit that I kind of like it.  Since I run my own webserver and have webmail access I'm not to concerned with that aspect of it.  I really don't get much spam since I'm smart about how I give email addresses out, and the interface isn't all that spectacular; compared to your normal web based email client.  So what's the big deal, simple: They give you 1GB of storage space.  I've watched my hotmail account shrink in size over the 6 years I've had it.  I think I started at around 100MB, but that was reduced to 10MB, not that I EVER use hotmail (it's my "sign up for things" account). 

I just heard the phrase "Tazmanian cluster fornication" on the radio...what a polite way to say "Tazmanian cluster fuck"...just thought I'd share that!

Anyway, I like the possibilities and I've just been introduced to the GFS which is the gmail file system.  That'll let me mount my storage space from anywhere and put files up there.  I can then grant access to friends and share stuff!  This was attempted a few years back by a company called "FreeDrive.com" which after a year in business dropped the "Free" and I consequently dropped them.  This service is still in the beta testing phase so not just anyone can sign up.  You have to be invited by someone who already has an account, which was how I got mine (friends in high places I guess).  But I get roughly 2 invites a week so if you'd like one, just email me and I'd be glad to hook you up.
