Girls night out

09/09/04 @ 5:23 pm · By Steve Hoffman · Comments (0) · Leave one
Looks like I'm on my own for dinner tonight.  Joni and her friends from work are having one of their girls night out.  They do it at least once a month and go to all kinds of places.  Tonight they are going to Hooters.  I don't imagine that it will be like women at a nudy bar, where they become the center of attention and every guy in the place is jealous of them.  It does give me a craving for wings, but now that we have a kick ass fryer courtesy "the Flatlander" I'll be cookin up a batch tonight in the comfort of my own...apartment.

I've got big expectations for my trip to the house tonight.  They've had two days of pretty decent weather and from the pictures Joni took the other day when it was raining they covered the lot over with a tarp, so there's no excuse for it not being further along!  We went looking at home stereo's last night for the house.  It's not guarenteed that we'll be getting one, but what we have now is on it's way out.  I'm amazed at how much prices have come down since we bought the current system almost 4 years ago.  I think the one we've agreed on is the Sony "Dream System" which is an 800W 5.1 surround sound system that is also a 5 disc DVD changer.  We went to several places, but will problaby end up buying it from Best Buy since they also have the refrigerator we want and we can do it on a Best Buy card and not pay interest for a year.  I just can't stand the thought of not getting the travel miles, but I'll manage somehow.

Another thing that we decided is we'll probably also pickup some speaker wire and if time permits we'll run in wall speaker wire for the loft and the living room.  I've talked to several people, although none of them are inspectors, and they say that the electrical inspector isn't concerned with non-power wire.  As much as I'd like to believe all of them I have already put in a call to the Wake Forest inspector and am awaiting his response.  Can you tell I'm a little excited about our first home?
