Maybe this isn't the season
Pathetic....the only word I can find (that isn't vulgar) to describe
Penn State's performance tonight. I don't like the idea of
putting the blame on Joepa because I don't see him dropping passes or
missing blocks etc., but I'm at a loss here. If this season ends
up the way it's going then 4 out of 5 seasons will have been losing and
I'm running out of excuses for him. I got into a bit of a
discussion with Dave at the game tonight and he is of the opinion that
it's time for Joe to move on. I see his point that it is
Paterno's job to motivate these guys, but I am always reminded of a
saying my high school english teacher used to say all the time, "You
can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink". I think
that sums up the team this year. We've got talent coming out the
ears, but when the opportunity presents itself...they just stand there
and let it pass them by. I looked at the team at the end of the
game and their uniforms were as clean as they were when they started
the game...are they afraid to get them dirty? I watched receivers
let the ball fall a few feet from there hands and make no attempt
whatsoever to catch it.
The only thing I'll say in PSU's defense is alot of their momentum was stolen from them by repeated penalties in the first minutes of the game. It's hard to recover from back to back penalties, I'll give them that. We're Penn State for crying out loud...lets start acting like it!
