Welcome home!

As much as I love going places, I love being home even more!  We just got back about a half hour ago and have slowly settled back into the comfort that is our apartment.  We had quite the eventful weekend and crammed as much stuff into it as humanly possible.  The wedding was nice, as far as I could tell everything went off without a hitch (and if there were hitches, Cristen, we didn't notice!)  We had more fun the we thought we would at the reception, we met a bunch of really interesting friends while we were there, I can't remember all their names, but I think between Joni and I we had something in common with all of them which made for good conversation.  I thought for sure we'd have left early, but the time flew by and when we got to the car we saw that we had departed only 15 minutes before the reception was scheduled to end.

We headed from Scranton straight to Evansville, which is near Berwick PA.  My uncle had a race last night and we went to show him our support.  He nearly gave my aunt, Joni and myself a heart attack when he landed a 40ft. jump wrong and was thrown from his quad.  He hopped up, though and pressed on.  The second race was far less eventful, you could tell by the way he backed off that he was still a little unstable from his previous fall no doubt, but he managed to take 4th overall.  No trophy, but no shame either.  We made our way back to the campground and spend the night there with the fam, we just shot the breeze most of the night, but it was nice just to catch up.

We left this morning and drove all the way back down here in just a hair under 9 hours.  The trip was uneventful with the exception of Baltimore.  We were heading around the beltway and saw a barrage of flashing lights.  As we got closer we saw that they were motorcycles, and those dozen or so police bikes were tailed closely by what I can only estimate to be roughly 2,000 (that's two thousand!) more bikes.  I tried to find information on it on the web, but all I came up with was a "Freedom Ride" but that was held back in 2001, that was consisted of 5,000 bikes so they may be related, but I don't know for sure.

I'll bet you all want to know the progress of the house...well, it's moving fast!  We stopped by Friday to see if anything had been done overnight.  To my amazement the first floor had already been completely erected (pics coming shortly).  We figured just for the hell of it we'd stop by on our way home.  Guess what, the second floor is on now too!  I think by the end of the week the roof will be on and shingled!  Woo hoo!
