Well, to continue the rant of Steve's last post and to save him a little frustration, here it goes.

After we got home last night, we let the Durango run a little while. We then turned it off and tried to start it again but it was a no go. We figured well we'll let it sit for the night and we would just have to use my car to jump the Durango in the morning. So we went to bed.

Well this morning we were both so tired, but got up on time anyway to go to work. Steve went out to the parking lot before I did to get the cars ready. When I got out there it was all ready for me to turn my car on. I did and we connected the jumper cables. Then wouldn't you know it but the damn Durango would not start. Now last night it started on the first try but not this morning. We fiddled with it a little bit and finally the Durango started. Steve left before I did figuring that the battery would have plenty of time to recharge on the 15 mile drive to work. I did call him twice on the way and he had no problems. However, once he got to work, he shut the car off, tried to restart it again, and wouldn't you know it, the battery was DEAD! So not only did alternator go kaputs the battery did also.

As I was still on the highway on my way to work I graciously offered to go to Walmart and pick up a new battery for him and bring it over. Well let me tell you something little about batteries, they are FREAKIN' heavy. And it being early in the morning and me not so smart, I did not take a cart with me so I had to carry it all the way through the store to the checkout in the front. I made it through the line and as I was on my way out the door, this little old man said to me "oh you really shouldn't strain yourself, take this cart to your car"! Well I was glad he was being so nice but I was only 20 feet from the door so I could have made it the last stretch but he wouldn't let me. Anyway, I got the battery and went to Steve's work. He came out and after a little hesitation of the new battery being much smaller than the original, it was installed without a problem. Steve let me do the honors and boy did the Durango sound nice when it started right up!

Let's just hope now that I can get home with my car and get the belt changed without any problems. And since we got a letter in the mail yesterday telling me that my inspection was due on 7/31/2004 and has to be done by 12/1/2004 or I get a $250 fine, I would like to get it done now that I was made aware I forgot to do it in the first place. Who would have thought the inspection I got for the Durango wouldn't count for my Cavalier?!? If it isn't one thing, its 10!!
