We did our pre-drywall walk through this morning and didn't receive any shockers.  The halfwall that is supposed to go into the master bathroom isn't installed yet so we documented that and the garage hadn't been raised (despite what we were told yesterday) and a note was made of that too.  According to Rick, the builder, that will all be taken care of today and drywall will most likely go up Tuesday!  So when my mother and brother(s?) come up next weekend they'll be able to see everything filled in.  While Rick couldn't promise us a finish date (which is currently slated for January 7, 2005) he said it should be ready to close on or about December 15th!  I hope that happens because that would give us the week we want to paint before we start cluttering it up with our stuff!  We have to notify our landlord that we'll not be renewing our lease 60 days out which is is 11 days from now.  The cost to do a month to month is $800/month for what we pay $630 for a 6 month lease, now so you can see why we don't want to be there any longer then we need to.

We've been on our savings vendetta for a full month now...and the results are finally showing!  If you recall, a while back I was concerned about our spending habits (and how liberal we were with them), I wanted to "trim the fat" and we have.  We're not pinching pennies by any means, but we went from eating out roughly 7 times a week (sometimes at some fancy restaurants) to 2 (Lunch on Friday's and a floater).  Also we cut back on services that we don't really need/use.  I disconnected my cellphone since work pays for one, we dropped the ultra package from the cable company and went to a package with no movie channels and curbed our impulse buying.  All in all I think we've managed to save some BIG bucks!  And I love the feeling of putting a chunk of change into savings!
