I'm not a machine

4a.m....yes 4a.m.  That is the time I got up this morning...ironically it's only an hour later then I went to bed just 24 hours before.  I did manage to go to bed a little early last night, but I didn't get nearly enough sleep if you ask me.  The reason I came in so early is I had maintenance to do on several servers and wanted to keep up to date with patches on workstations.  I know that if I leave it to each individual to install the latest windows updates they'd never happen, as was evident this morning.  I really only ever worry about the public machines...most of the tech group gets a world accessible IP address, not that they really need it, especially with our VPN.  Anyway, the updates are done and I'm just waiting for everyone to start rolling in.

Now that the election is over and the winner has been chosen (hooray for W), I'm pretty sure that my sister is going to get to go to a dinner with the president.  I'll call her tonight to find out for sure, but I think she said that if Bush won then there would be a dinner in FL for the major party contributors (financially and other I'm sure) which would include her.  She was able to get me passes for her meeting with Jeb Bush, but we couldn't make it down...well this time we might be able to if it's this weekend.  I'll just have to call her.  Wouldn't that be awsome...to wine and dine with the president of the United States.  Things like that just don't happen to me...
