So all that trouble I went through last night could have been avoided had work been closer to the datacenter.  I took a spare card down today to replace the card that died yesterday and fully expected to spend the rest of the day having to re-install the entire OS to get the machine back to a functioning state.  Well, I put the new card in...rebooted...and it worked.  Why can't everything be that easy?  So we were down for 3 hours yesterday while Andrew rebuild the database from my backups when we could have been down for an hour (the time it takes to drive from Raleigh to RTP back to Raleigh). 

So because of all this extra work I've been forced into, I haven't had a chance to get the pictures we took over Thanksgiving posted.  I really don't have anything else to say as work has been my entire life since I got back from Atlanta.  I'm fully expecting a phone call from CPI today regarding the cable runs at our house.  OK, I take that back (isn't the web great...you get the story in 5 minutes when really 30 minutes have gone by), I just finished talking to CPI and according to them the installation went smoothly.  Joni is going to head out there after work to see what it all looks like.  Not that I think they would do it, but she put it in my head that they'd see our cable and cut the ends off it out of spite, so that's all I can think about.  Like I said, I doubt they'd do something like that, but if they do...can you say..."lawsuit"...that's lah-soot!
