Well, my boss is now a father!  His wife had the twins yesterday evening around 4:00 and all is well with them and the mother.  Unfortunately, this means that he will be out for the majority of the week and we have a release one week from today...  The team sort of lost direction and so I sort of unilaterally decided to take the reigns.  I called a meeting with the development team and we setup a process and started ironing out the details, basically we came up with the steps for doing the test migration runs and assigned tasks to specific people.  It actually seems to be working well we have successfully finished the first of three runs and it should get easier and quicker with each run.  They seem to support me as their leader which is kind of nice because it'll give me that much more ammo when I ask for a raise.  I've been working every minute of an 8.5 hour day at work and then putting in two to four more hours at home all this week, and next week looks like it will be even worse!  We do have our house walk through next Thursday, which brings me to my next subject...

The house is all but finished.  We took a trip there last night and the carpet is in, all the appliances are in, the shower doors are installed, I got to see all the fixtures Joni talked about, and the fireplace mantle was installed.  I took a boatload of pictures, but I have been too busy/tired to post them; I'll get around to it, I promise.  We talked the other day and aren't sure about what to do as far as an inspector.  We had intended on hiring one before we move in, but several people have suggested that we wait until just before our 1 year warranty is up and have the inspector come in then and go over everything before we're on our own.  I dunno...I am excited, but aside from having our release next Saturday and dealing with the fallout that follows a new product, I have to schedule an install of the new phone system either the day before or the day after we close on the house...lord give me strength!
