So I logged on last night to see what the status of my laptop order was hoping that they'd beat the estimated date of February 2.  You can imagine my disappointment to see that they have "reworked" the estimated ship date to February 5 and a delivery date of February 8-12.  I feel slightly betrayed, the last laptop I ordered from them came like the next day (well maybe two days later), but still it was quick..not TWO WEEKS later!  We'll see how it goes...maybe they're just trying to cover their own asses...but still don't tease me with a good date when I'm buying it then change it once you've got my money. 

I got 1 of two machines built last night...I'll be so glad when we're out of PIII 6-800MHz machines..I feel almost guilty giving them to someone no matter how little they need a powerhouse machine.  I will finish that one today and start on the next one..I should have them both built by tomorrow and then I get to figure out how to get phone and internet to them now that we know they're going in the cubes.  The next wave of hires brings the real challenge...HOW on earth are we going to fit 3 more people into a space with no open offices?

Finally, Merci is doing well, we spent a good chunk of last night with her and her family.  She's up and around (well a little) and in good spirits.  If only her husband was more supportive of modern medicine, all would be well.  He's into that Homeopathy stuff, natural healing with potions and leaves and shit...all well and good, but for something as serious as cancer you really need a doctor.  Another story I suppose.
