oops...again
I just realized that I haven't posted here in like 5 days....where did
I leave off? Ah, yes...may not be able to go to DC...well, I was
and I had a great time even if I didn't get to eat any cake. We
hit a few different museums and the Archives and then enjoyed a nice
dinner with a bunch of freaks from an animee convention. That was
interesting to say the least. I've never seen so many "goth"
people before, then I also saw batman, a few characters I can loosly
equate to those japanese cartoons that are all the rage these days, but
the highlight was a guy who dressed like one of the three storms from
"Big Trouble in Little China". He was white, but he was workin'
it, the funniest part was he ate french fries with chop
sticks...priceless.
I'm back on the diet and doing well with it. I've lost 6 lbs since I started last week...if only I could keep that up! I've been going to the gym at work 4 nights a week and really cutting back on the eating...like half what I normally eat. I'm not expecting miracles, but I'd like to get myself down to that target I set a year and a half ago.
We did our taxes last night, and are getting a better refund then I thought we would. We were going to blow it on a TV or something, but decided it would be smarter to put it towards paying off Joni's credit card. We will keep out $500 or so and get that breakfast table she's been wanting and waiting so patiently for, but the rest will almost pay the card off.
I got an email from another perspective employer today, they are interested in my SysAdmin skills. While I'm flattered, I've added a pertinant question to my list of questions to ask. "What room for growth does your company offer me?" If they don't have a decent answer then I've lost interest. If I can get my shit together I want to apply to NCSU for the fall semester for grad school. I never thought I'd say that, I couldn't wait to get out of school and now I want to go back? Well, it's true. I think I can do much better for myself with a Masters and I specifically want to get and MBA in IT Management. I think I'd make a great manager, I do it now...except for having a staff, I handle all aspects of IT for the company so why not get paid more to do the same thing...and tell a few people what to do?
