I'm beat...like barely keep my eyes open beat.  To make matters worse, I'm sitting in the Datacenter right now, eyes bloodshot and burning.  I'm having issues with our "lead" server, the one that is the primary email,dns and web server.  For some reason, for the past two Fridays in a row, it's stop responding to network traffic.  Unfortunately there hasn't been any logs generated to indicate that the problem is OS, or even hardware related.  So being the thorough sysadmin I am, I'm running a set of tests right now on the RAM..but judging from how long I've been sitting here already, I'd say it's gonna be a while (it's been 48 minutes and I'm at 3% of tests completed).  I have my suspicions as to what the cause is, but I want to rule out bad RAM first.  I think the network card is dying which would explain the lack of logs because the system wouldn't know that traffic is never making it to it, but that theory doesn't explain why it works fine for a week then craps out...I've checked all the tell tale signs of being hacked, but nothing...it would be tough to do anyway because I only have 4 ports open...send email, receive email, dns and websites and those would be difficult to gain access through.  So anyway while I'm stuck here in this noisy hell, I figure I'd tell you how our weekend went.  Remember I'm incredibly sleep deprived right now so if I don't make sense all the time...that's 50% of the reason. 

The ski trip was simply great!  I had so much fun, I met a bunch of new kids from church and had a great bunch of kids on the van ride.  All boys naturally, but they entertained themselves by quoting (non-stop I might add) Napoleon Dynamite and taking turns with a Gameboy DS or some such device.  As for the resort...I'm definitely going back there, I expected Snowshoe to be a dumpy little mountain with nothing to do, I couldn't have been further from the truth.  It was a small town on top of a mountain.  It snowed 75% of the time we were there, our first night we got 9" of new snow from the time we went to bed at 11 until we woke up at 8ish.  I'm not a skier anymore for those who didn't know..about 4 years ago Kyle and I tried snowboarding and loved it, so I got my board and tore it up!  I even did the half pipe at the terrain park, which is something I was afraid to do after a bad experience at Tussy Mountain.  I did a few of each type of trail except the double black diamonds, but I didn't shy away from the single black diamonds.  I even managed to get Joni to give snowboarding a try and she actually likes it...she's not very good yet, but we didn't have much time for her to try to pick it up.  She used mine to get a feel for it in the parking lot and then I took her to the mountain for an hour to pick up some fundamentals...well mainly just stopping, but she did OK and got better as time went by.  Next time we go somewhere I'll let her take real lessons, which will probably be less intimidating then me trying to teach her, but that probably won't be until next year. 

We took many pictures which I don't know if I'll put them on my site or the church's or both?  So stay tuned for that in the near future, just not tonight or probably tomorrow (Monday, which is technically today, but I haven't slept yet so the date didn't increment).  I think I'm going to work late tomorrow...yeah..I am..
