Need a mental break
I need a mental minute here..I've been working most of the day on
moving related issues, but at the same time trying to cope with the
standard headache of IT problems. I'm knee deep in quotes for all
kinds of services, but the numbers are about to make my head
spin. The biggest problem is the office wiring...namely that it
must be redone and it has to be affordable. The best quote I've
seen so far is $10,000, which is precisely $2500 more then they are
willing to spend. Soooo, if I can't find someone to do the job
for $7500-8000 then guess who is going to have to do it for free?
That's right...ME! I am more then capable of doing the work (look
at our house!), I just don't want to! That's a ton of work and
it's not easy work either...it's crawling into spaces not even meant
for people half my size in the hottest part of a building...the
ceiling. The credit card miles might be nice..but that's about
it. Time to turn on the charm.
I sent out the email today for our Barbeque! I'm inviting friends from work, friends from the area and I'm sure Joni will invite her friends. Ok, nope, I just talked to her and she's acting pissy about the whole thing so I don't know if she's inviting anyone, their loss. Sometime this week we'll have to go and buy a lawnmower as the back corner of the yard (where I'm sure all the grass seed washed) is like a forest while the higher point is like a barren desert (or is it dessert?). We should be done with all the tiling tomorrow night. We've layed them all out, looks amazing by the way, but we now need to wait for all the mortar to set. Tonight we'll start grouting and probably finish that up tomorrow. Then Wednesday we can get our kitchen back in order and enjoy our new floor! Which reminds me, I need to bring the dolly home to move the fridge!
