Early and Late
Well, I got just about everything done that I wanted to yesterday
morning. If I hadn't gone in so early I doubt I would have
finished it all. Of course the second people started rolling in
my day went to hell in a handbag. I couldn't walk 10 ft down the
hallway without someone stopping me in a panic that something was wrong
with something. Of course, nothing was wrong at all, user
error. I had to sacrifice a few things but they can be covered
today with little or no problem.
As for the late part...well, I'm home right now...I left for work at the normal time, well maybe 10 minutes late, to find that traffic is backed up beyond the entrance to our development. That's because it's backed up on Capitol for about 3 miles...and since we all know how NC drivers have no respect for the "Don't block the intersection" law, you see where the backups are caused. At least this time I can sit comfortably on the couch instead of in the car. All because of a little rain...and when I say a little rain...I mean a little rain. Morons!
So Joni got an offer from that company she interviewed with. It was a joke of an offer at best...I guess they looked strictly at her current salary and went 10% from there...what they failed to take into account (even though it was pointed out by her) is that it would cost us nearly 10% more for her to work there. Between medical, dental, vision, and 401K she would only see a $70/month raise...hardly worth it. We discussed how she'll turn the position down and counter offer, last night, I'm waiting to hear how it goes. I'd really like to plant my foot in someone from Carlyle & Conlin's ass for divulging her current salary to the employer. It's crap like that that gives recruiters a bad name....it'll cost them...they only get paid if their candidate takes the job so <in the soup nazi's voice>"No check for you!"</>
