Pondering breaking my rule

So there is a Hoffman family travel ban in full effect right now, whereby we're not supposed to leave Wake county for the whole month of August.  I'll admit, however, that I'm considering breaking it.  There's a charity golf tournement in PA that Joni's cousin invited me to and I'm seriously considering going to it.  Not because it's golf (which is certainly a good thing), but because it would give me time to bond with my in-laws...and golf too!  Jason can get us buddy passes to fly up relatively cheap, but Joni has already made tons of plans that weekend so I don't know what to do.  I don't think it would be right for me to go up without her, but at the same time I'd love to go.  I will talk it over tonight with Joni and see what she wants to do and what she wants me to do and go from there.

Looks like we're going to Hooters for lunch today, then after lunch Jonathan and I are going to run to Second Swing Golf and I'm going to look at a new set of Irons.  I've been using the same clubs since 1995 so mine are approaching the antique mark.  I don't want all new clubs though..I love my drivers, I just need to get them re-gripped.  But the irons are so outdated...I get no spin on the ball AT ALL any more, the faces are just worn down.  I will say that I'm glad to finally know some golfers that go regularly.  I tried a few times to hook up with Hector from IBM, but it never happened.  I think we might go out on Sunday too, so I'll probably have new clubs to try out..or at least loaners.  That is of course if they get a tee time that allows me to go to church still....
