Fore....
I actually didn't need to say that once on Sunday's outing! I
went with Mark and Jonathan to try out my new clubs and had a
blast! I was so nervous that I blew all that money on clubs and
couldn't hit them for shit. I spend two days at the driving range
and tore up more grass then those in the sod producing business.
I could do just fine on the turf, but give me real grass and RIP...big
old chunks went flying. At the very end of my last driving range
bucket I realized that my problem wasn't the club at all...the problem
was my swing. With my old clubs I had the feel pretty much down
pat and my swing (although quite deteriorated from my
highschool/college days) was in decent shape. With the new clubs
I was trying to do too much of the swing with my back arm (right arm in
my case) which resulted in my pushing the club forward instead of
pulling it with my left arm...hence the pushing it into the
ground. If I cleared my head and concentrated on pulling
through...viola beautiful shots..most of the time. I need to do
some serious work on putting though. I was on the green in
regulation probably 6 of 9 holes, but only parred one or two at
most. I'm not sure if it is a confidence thing or just really bad
at it. One thing is for sure..I love my new clubs and actually
look forward to going out as much as I can (afford).
Only 5 more weeks till our new furniture gets here...thank the lord!
