Bored

Yeah, I'm pretty bored at work right now...not to say that I'm not working, because I actually am.  It's just mundane system builds.  There was once a time where I would sort of challenge myself to build them (I could do roughly 4 simultaneous builds back at Penn State) but now it is really a task that gets old after roughly two or three.

I'm bracing myself for the upcoming storm, not that it's going to hit anywhere near us.  There's just a great chance we're going to feel the after effects and they'll be worse then Katrina.  On our "unbiased" TV news they said that gas prices could exceed $5/gallon.  It's going to suck, but I can say that we've been doing more then our fair share.  For the past two weeks both Joni and I have been carpooling and we're seeing our gas bill go down dramatically.  Sure it takes a little coordination and sometimes it can be a little inconvenient, but it's saving me money and making a small contribution to the available supply.

We still haven't heard from LayZ Boy, and I'm getting a little impatient (and sore).  Every day the couch lays back a little further.  Right now it's just a step up from a futon.  It's quite a sight.  I can almost feel the new recliners under my butt...it'll be so wonderful.

Oh, how's the deck coming?  We have only one section of railing left to do then the actual floor and we'll be done.  Last night we finished staining at around 7:45 as it was too dark to keep going.  Not an hour later, the heavens opened up on us.  We really do need the rain so I can't be that mad, but c'mon; it doesn't rain all summer then the one week we don't want it to rain...
