I'm Back

I'm back home from my weekend excursion to West Virginia with the Dev Team.  We had a good time camping and all, I didn't go whitewater rafting this time around although I would have today had they either gone earlier in the morning or did the easier section.  I'll talk about that more tomorrow.  I just had to share the great news about my Lions, who are a stellar 5-0 this season thusfar.  They will be facing Ohio State next weekend, which we were supposed to go see, but couldn't get tickets, but they are coming off of a confidence boosting ass-kicking of no. 18 ranked Minnisota in a game that I just couldn't get enough of!  I had to drive all over WV to find a bar that had a TV so I could watch the game, but when I finally did I fell into good company with a rowdy bunch of alums that fed me drinks all night!  12 or so later we were victorious and I was ready to knock back a few more...which I did....probably 6 or so more and a mini bottle of wine and surprisingly I woke up in good spirits (with no headache).

Hell, I mine as well tell you about the trip since I'm here.  We went to Summersville, WV for a weekend of whitewater rafting, well I didn't go for the rafting, it really doesn't interest me; I was there mainly to shuttle people around and I was fine with that.  It was probably fun, but I'd like Joni to be there when I do it (so she can do it too).  The weather was perfect in just about every way...cool at night and warm during the day.  Everyone kept asking me if I wanted to go with them and while it doesn't scare me it just doesn't appeal to me.  Perhaps it's all the rowing or something but I nearly gave in today (or late last night) I said that if we did the easier part of the river then I would go with them, but they pretty much decided they were doing the harder part.  I thought about it early this morning and if we got our asses moving I would have done the harder part, but they didn't get moving until 10:30 this morning.  They hit the water at almost 11:30 and I wasn't about to raft all day and then have to drive at night...so I just came home.  I have no regrets, I'll go some other time and I'm sure I won't have a hard time finding people to go with me.
