Oh, do I kick ass..Let me count the ways!
I think our laptops were stolen...not much I can do about that..but
moving on..let's get to how great I am. I had to circumvent a few
security measures our new hosting system has in place...but I think the
end result is just as secure in my humble opinion. Basically, to
get to a very insecure stat's page, the hosting application hides it
behind a username and password of an admin user. I really didn't
want to give the average customer access to the admin page when all
they really need is access to the stats and webmail. So what I
did was wrote a routine to authenticate the user and if they were
successfull in that regard they get to see the stats page. The
stats page is known to be insecure so instead of giving the user direct
access to it, everything is proxied through a program that lets me
control what gets submitted back to the user. So after two days
of struggling it's finally finished and works flawlessly!
Now..I'm going to bed!
