Have you noticed lately that every commercial you see (especially for cars) is the products doing things that are physically impossible?  Then at the bottom of the add there's some sort of disclaimer saying that this "it" (to borrow from ebay) can not do what we just said it can do.  I saw a Lexus or Audi commercial for a car that went UP a ski jump but the disclaimers at the bottom basically said...with spikes for tires and ropes and pulleys this MIGHT be possible in real life.  I hope people don't just go out and buy stuff based on the commercials...although knowing just how dumb the average American is, I think I already know the answer...

So not one day after I tell Dean how easy DNS is, I seem to have a DNS meltdown of my own...nothing overly major (well it was for one customer) but it was a scenario I hadn't planned for and by planned for I mean thought of.  To make a long, boring story short, but no less boring; Our DNS server stopped giving out MX answers for one of our domains that we are a backup mail exchanger for so mail was coming to us because we are A record for that domain.  So for two days the server was collecting email but had no clue where to forward them on to.  for that one customer we racked up 6000 emails in that short time...when I was alerted to the problem and fixed it...our server then blasted 6000 emails out almost all at once...I'm sure the power dipped over at peak 10 with all that net traffic, but oh well...so it's fixed...sort of..I need to figure out how to change 90 lines in 90 different files...without doing it by hand...sounds like a job for sed!
