Learning so much

I hate to say it, but I'm really taking a liking to Active Directory...I knew it was the right tool for the job, but it's a lot more then that.  I've created all the accounts I need for the company (boy are we growing) and already have my LDAP based authentication mechanisms working!  I'm going to mess around with my Linux laptop today to try to get that working on LDAP also and I'll basically be done...oh except for copying all user accounts over to the new domain.  That's a process I'm dreading as I haven't had the best of luck with that process.  The biggest problem is when I separate from the domain and rejoin the new domain...everyones profile will be in their old directory and it's not easy to just migrate them over...at least it isn't for me.  That's small potatoes though as the bulk of the work is over.  I can move a computer each day to the new setup and be done in a month or so.  We'll see.

I'm also learning more then I care to admit about MS Exchange, although I won't complain about that as I really don't know much about administering it.  So it turns out I'll have the chance to setup not one, not two, but three enterprise exchange servers in the next 12 months.  Two of them are quite straight forward, single domain with email, but one is a bear of a job with virtual hosting and the like...and naturally that's the one I'm building first.  Two more days and I'm smack dab in the middle of a week's vacation (and this is the best kind...where you don't go anywhere!)
