Brush with the law
Well, I had a run in with the law this morning...I guess I should say
that Rob had a run in with the law and I was just there. A NC
State Trooper was speeding past Rob this morning when he all but
slammed on his breaks and darted behind Rob. I thought for sure
it was because he had no inspection sticker, it wasn't; I thought it
could have been speeding, it wasn't; possibly failure to signal when
changing lanes, it wasn't. Rob got a $100 ticket because...(drum
roll please)...he didn't have his seat belt on. This trooper
broke no less then 3 laws to issue a ticket because Rob wasn't
buckled...technically I wasn't either, but he only issued Rob the
ticket. Can you tell it was the end of the month?
Neither Joni nor I felt like cooking last night and we needed to pick some stuff up from Walmart for our dinner tomorrow night, so we decided to use our gift card to Bennigan's. It was a brand new one right by our house so I figured what the heck. We got the "Pick three" appetizer and it was delicious, I pressed my luck though and tried the "Monte Cristo" meal...basically a ham and turkey sandwich battered and fried, a little powdered sugar sprinkled on and a raspberry jelly to dip in. It looks so good, and everyone I know likes it...except me apparently. They cut a sandwich into fourths...I have three of them left for lunch today. Oh well, I'll stick to their burgers...that's what I get for trying something different!
We need to get on the ball and book our tickets to Vegas..I checked last night, but the prices for flights had skyrocketed! The hotel rooms stayed the same though so maybe what I'll do is book the rooms to get the rate locked and then check the flights each day. I don't know..too much pressure!
