Well, we found out tonight that no matter what we do there's really nothing we can do to stop a gas station from going in roughly half a mile from our house.  Wake Forest apparently annexed that property without telling anyone, or publicizing as little as possible and they have some ghetto rule that says they are all but required to develop two of four corners of an intersection.  Now two of the corners are privately owned, and one is a telecom corner, so the corner they are targeting is *going* to be developed, now the only thing I can hope for is that I can help to raise enough concern that the town allows the local HOA's to mandate the appearance of the complex..i.e. brick front, no 50ft sign of prices, how much lighting etc.  So I gave one of the HOA board members all my contact info and will do what it takes to get people informed and hopefully get this to go our way.  I really didn't want/need this...
