Happy Birthday to Joni
She says it was yesterday, I say it's today, this will probably be one
of those things we just never agree on. In case you didn't know,
Joni is a leap year baby (one of only two I know) so we have this never
ending mantra about when her birthday is, I say she was born the day
after Feb 28, which most years is March 1, she says she was born the
last day of Feb so we're both right. It's just one of those goofy
things we like to give each other a hard time about. I had so
many ideas for her birthday present, and some of them were good, but
not all of them fit my description of what the perfect presents are so
were DQ'd. I think a perfect present is something you really
want, but wouldn't buy for yourself and should only be for you.
So no household presents or stuff like that. I ultimately settled
on a Wall mount for her TV to put in her scrap book room. Right
now it takes up almost half her table and requires her to look down at
the TV, this will get it off the table and I can mount it at eye height
or even a little higher. We'll probably get it mounted
tomorrow. I think she likes it...or she had better!
For her birthday dinner last night I took her to the Angus Barn...bottom line, not impressed. We sat in the wild turkey lounge as I didn't make reservations. Not that I didn't try, no one answered when I called. There would have been a three hour wait for the dining area. The lounge was nice though, very comfortable and cozy. The service was mediocre, the food was good but the portions were insulting considering what we paid for it. The highlight of the place was an efficient valet who got our car and opened the door for Joni...rare I'd say, not that we do a lot of valet parking, but on special occasions I'll spring the $5. We've now tried all the steakhouses in the area and we both agree that Ruth's Chris steakhouse is the place for us. If you've never been, I'd say give it a try.
