Finally I can listen to the radio in the car and not have the distortion associated with blown speakers.  With the weather changing I like to roll the windows down instead of using the AC, but that means the radio has to be louder.  Well consequently, I blew the front door speakers.  I'd ordered the replacements a week ago and they came in earlier this week.  I wasn't planning on putting them in right away, but the drive home yesterday drove me up a wall..every time someone with a Bass-ie voice came on all I could hear was the distortion.  So I started taking apart the door panel and in less then an hour I had both sides taken care of!  I'm going to hold off another month and probably replace the rear speakers too as the front sounds amazing (well barring the interference that is present on AM radio).  I technically never learned this skill from my father, so he's not getting full credit this time, but I suppose knowing how to work on other parts of the car makes a job like this less intimidating for me.  Thankfully no one makes an in dash Navigation system for DIN and a half openings or I'd probably be doing that one of these days.  Having the GPS built-in to the truck is just wonderful...worth every penny and I recommend it for anyone who puts more then 100 miles a week on their vehicles.
