No Promises

So it's been forever since I posted here...and mainly because the only thing I had to talk about was work and I know better then to do that here, but I've had a few recent happening that I think warrent a quick post.  First and foremost, I am going to be a father as scary as that may seem; my wife and I are expecting our first child in February and are more excited then words can express.  I was panic stricken at first but as I warmed up to the idea I get more excited as each day passes.

The second big thing that has happened is I've decided to leave BuildLinks after three and a half years on the job.  It wasn't an easy decision to leave all the friends I've made over the years, but a side of me was coming out that I didn't like, nor did my wife so we decided it was time to move on and up.  I will be the IT Manager of the Unix Systems Group for the NC Department of Revenue.  This is a position that will definately excercise my management muscle as I'll be responsible for the servers that run the efile utility that millions of North Carolinians depend on each year.  If you are going to ask if I can do anything about your taxes...don't because I doubt i'll ever get to see any actual returns and even if I did...I'm not going to lose my job so you can save a few bucks in taxes.

So there it is, the updates of what has been happening.  I'll try to post a bit more often as I'm sure I'll have a more pleasant outlook on things now that my 75 hour workweeks are coming to a close.  Yay for me!

Congrats man. I know how you feel about the panic, I think abigail thought I was catatonic for two days after we found out :)

Well, the last one finally falls.

And BTW, congrats on the new job
