I knew it, I just knew it; I couldn't let well enough alone.  If you read yesterday's post, then you are familiar with the slime-ball tactics of earthlink and their diabolical scheme to rid the world of spam by blocking port 25 (the SMTP port).  Well come to find out, my scum-bag of an ISP went and did the same thing to me!!!  I just don't get it?  What's the point?  Can somebody please explain it to me?!?!?  Do they realize what it is that they are doing...basically they are taking an internet that was designed to be open and closing it down!  I've all but been told that the only acceptable email..is their email.  WTF? 
    I could understand punishing those who have done wrong or simply have no clue what the hell it is that they are doing, sure shut them down!  I manage roughly 20,000 messages a day, and you don't see my servers on any blacklist for being open relays, nor do we allow our users to send spam email.  I just use a little common sense and everyone is happy!  I can understand blocking all outgoing email that isn't sent directly to their servers, that makes a little sense, just a little, but to block all incoming requests to port 25 I just don't see the logic.  That basically means that in an attempt to stop spam, they are not going to allow mail to be sent directly to you.  Well geniuses, that doesn't stop anything...that just means that the spam has to go through your mail server first.  Boy this makes my blood boil!  I'll get to the bottom of this!  On hold for technician now!
