Sick and tired

Guess who has his first cold at only 8 weeks old...yeah, little Zack.  It's nothing to serious, just a common cold and we figure he got it from his visit to the Easter Bunny.  It's a bit of a runny nose and some chest congestion, but he's not coughing a lot, just enough to make you want to help him but you can't.  He's in a great mood though so it doesn't bother him all that much.  On the bright side, for two nights now he's slept from 11pm to 6:30am and probably would go longer if it weren't for the TV and alarm going off at 6:15.  And when he wakes up he's not starving, he just coos and flails his arms and legs for a little until we pay him some attention.  Naturally his momma runs to get a bottle for him the instant he's up, but I tend to let him play a little while he's in a good mood.

We've had a bit of a development with his formula, it appears he's just allergic to breast milk...we've done everything the Dr has asked us to as far as Joni's diet, but when he was at the Dr's office the other day they did a test and found hidden blood in his stool.  Joni is waiting to hear from his pediatrician today, but I told her I'm not willing to try anything more when we know the formula works just fine for him.  As it stands she can't (and hasn't) eat any milk products, soy, peanut or eggs.  Wheat is the only other possible product she can eliminate, and for all intents and purposes she has, so I don't know what else to do.  We will wait to see what the Dr says today, but if he asks her to try and eliminate something else we'll just tell him that Zack is going to straight formula...and then I'm taking my wife out for a big ice cream Sunday!
