So, we didn't think the zoo was enough excitement for one weekend and took Zack to the pumpkin patch today. Well, that's not entirely true. Since Zack cried every time he saw a pumpkin last fall (remember he was only 8 - 9 months old) I just had to see if he would like them this year. The experiment paid off as he LOVED it!!

We went to a local farm called Hillridge Farms. I can easily see us going back there every year. This farm had so much to do - a moon bounce, ducks, a pond where you can feed the fish, a huge slide, a pony ride, a train (took two loops around a big field), a hay ride, and a big pumpkin patch.

The slide is is one of those big slides like at the fair where you have to sit on a burlap bag to go down. I went first and then Zack and Steve came down together. I could hear him laughing all the way down.

This was Zack's first time on a moon bounce and after he got the hang of it he loved it. He went on when we first got there and we had to pry him out of it. Right before we left, he asked for "more bounce" so Steve took him back for one last bounce. This time Zack took off his socks so his little feet were freezing when we got him to come out of the moon bounce. It was a good thing that we went right to the car after so he could warm up.

Zack loves horses. Each day when we go to work (yes Mommy, Daddy, and Zack all go to work each day) we have to slow down as we go past two horse farms on our road so that we can see he horses. So of course we had to let him go on the pony ride. He doesn't usually like it when we sit him on things (like on the carousel) and was not fond of the pony at first, but Steve got him to sit in the saddle and he slowly warmed up to it. By end of the ride he was very happy that he go to ride on the "brown horse".

He loved the pumpkin patch this year. It was so cold today and started to rain when we finally got to the pumpkin patch but Zack didn't care. He had so much fun running around in the pumpkins that we had to carry him back to the tractor so we could take the hay ride back to the car.

Did I mention how cold it was today? It was very cold and rainy. Zack's hands felt like little icicles but as we are taking our pumpkins to the car what does Zack tell Daddy he wants to eat but "ice cream". So being the good parents that we are we got some for him - while I drank hot chocolate! By the time he was half way through with it he was visibly shivering so I had to help him eat it so it really was "all gone" and he would believe the cup was empty. He is more and more entertaining as his little personality is emerging.

All in all it was a great day!
