Zach and Daddy Time
So I had to run some errands and Joni had a gym class to attend and an appt with a physical trainer so I got some Z and daddy time. My first stop was the skate shop to get my blades sharpened for the game tonight and Zach took full advantage of running around the store and touching all the things I could not afford for him to break and cleverly avoiding the things I could. Since the guy sharpening skates had a few pair to work on I let Z watch the pratice going on through the window but every time I set him down to rest my arm he looked at me, pointed up to the window and said "people skate". I thought he was telling me something I already knew, but he kept pointing until I picked him back up to watch again...
After we left the skate shop I went to the mall because I need new dress shoes for work. After Zach covered every food he wanted to eat that the mall did NOT sell (like waffles...pancakes...grapes) we settled on Chik-fil-a where I was able to get waffle fries and there were actually grapes in their fresh fruit cup. Z was wonderful again as they didn't have a high chair or booster seat so he had to sit like a big boy and I only had to warn him a few dozen times not to stand up but he listened every time and that damn coin operated carousel was probably most of the distraction. We tossed all the change I had in my pocket into the fountain and rode the escalator as often as possible, essentially did some fun stuff. The funniest part is Z was intrigued by the salesman measuring my foot for shoes, and when he went to the back to get a few pair to try Z insisted it was his turn and propmtly raised his foot for me to remove his shoe and measure. I got the foot measuring thing and obliged him...shoe and all, he was satisfied with that but I had to check the other foot to be safe...it was then my turn again and this went on until the guy came back. When I didn't find anything, Z informed me that it was night night time so we left! Quality time!
