Happy Birthday GG!
Happy Birthday Grandma! You are 96 years young. We miss you and love you. Zack loves looking at your picture as we read his bible stories!
Zack had a fever today so we ended up spending the day at home together. He isn't really sick (only other symptom is a runny nose) but he was clearly not himself today. When I got to day care to pick him up he was laying on the floor on his blanket (which I gathered he had been doing since I left him there). We got home and he laid on the couch for most of the morning. He took a long nap and when he got up his fever was 102.8 or 103.4 depending on which thermometer you looked at. I took him to the doctor later this afternoon but she basically said to give him motrin and just let him fight whatever virus he has unless his fever stayed like it was for 3 days or spiked to 104 or 105 and then he needed to go back. He acted a little more like himself tonight until we gave him a bath. At the end of the bath he sat on Steve's lap and was just shaking - regardless of how much we covered him and tried to warm him up. He went right to sleep after we got him dressed so I think it was like he was having the cold sweats and his fever was breaking. At least this is what I hope was happening.
On our ride home from school he asked to do three things. He wanted to "go to GG's house pet Sumack". When I said that we couldn't go to PA today as the trip was too long he wanted "go bye bye and see Daddy work" but as Daddy was at work we couldn't do that either. Next he wanted to call and talk to Sumack and Moses. I would have let him do this even though the dogs couldn't talk back but by the time we got home he just wanted to lay on the couch and wasn't interested in the phone anymore.
Even though he didn't feel well today, he still talked a bunch. I am now Mom, not Mommy or Momma, but Mom. I'm not sure how I feel about that as that means he is getting bigger than I want him to be. We were upstairs earlier and I couldn't find where I just set the thermometer down so I said in general "Where did I put that thermometer? I can't find it." As I was carrying him, he looked right into my eyes and slowly said "I don't know Mom". Then later as we were leaving the house and I realized I didn't know where my keys were right after I locked the door, I said "Oh, where are my keys?" Again I am holding Zack so he looks me in the eye and almost sighs as he slowly says "I don't know Mom". He's not 2. He is not supposed to understand this kind of conversation yet but it is obvious that he does. I really don't stand a chance against him as he gets older.
