What a character!

Zack was perfectly fine when I dropped him off at day care today. He washed his hands and went right to play with his friends. It was so nice to be able to leave and he not be crying. His teachers said that he had a wonderful day. He is drinking out of a big boy cup at school now (i.e. no sippy cup) and both Lisa and Jennifer say he is so proud of himself when he does it that all he does is talk about his big boy cup and he forgets to eat. They were playing outside when I got there to pick him up tonight. He ran over to me and told me “it’s time to go home Mommy”. He had some scratches on the side of his face. Jennifer was telling me that right before I got there he was running as fast as his little legs would take him around the playground. She wasn’t sure what he was after but he wasn’t looking where he was going and ran smack into the fence. She said that he was going to fast he bounced off and landed on his back (not that it slowed him down for long)!

Mom and Dad are on their way from Florida to Delaware so they stopped at the house tonight. Zack was excited to see them but couldn't quite figure out why there were here and Logan wasn't. He was much happier when Papa said he was going to get Logan tomorrow. Zack and Papa played on the floor for a long time. They were so cute together. He took Grandma and Papa out to the garage to show them how he can play hockey. He made Dad hold Steve’s stick and hit a puck too. And just like with Steve, Zack would only give Papa the yellow puck and kept the red puck for himself. It is neat to see that his mannerisms stay the same regardless of what adult he is dealing with at the time.

We had dinner at this Irish pub that we have been wanting to try. The food wasn’t that great so I doubt we’ll be going back but it was the first time we were able to try a previously smoky restaurant now that the smoking ban is in place. Zack had asked me for ice cream on the way home from work tonight. I had told him that he had to eat his entire dinner first. On our way home after dinner, Zack is sitting there holding Monkey and says “Yachary ate all his dinner.” So I confirmed and said that yes Zachary did. The next words out of his mouth were “Now Yachary have ice cream and prinkles”. What a character!
