Well, my ticket is booked for my trip to PA next month.  I will fly out of Raleigh at around noon two Thursday's before the wedding and will spend the afternoon in Philly before finishing my trip up to Binghamton.  It was half the price to book it as a round tip flight as opposed to a one-way flight.  So guess which I did!  I don't think I'll ever understand the logic behind that.  If someone knows, do tell!  Perhaps this explains why the airline industry is so screwed up?  Someone once told me the reason they charge less for round trip flights is becuase they know that the seat on the return trip is sold.  I bought that for the longest time, but then I started to think about it and in my case it was $180 for a round trip flight from Raleigh to Binghamton, which means that I am paying $90 to get up there and $90 to get back.  Following so far?  For a one way flight was $410.  The only logical reason I can come up with (which I just came up with as I was writing this) is that it really only costs the airline $50 to fly you just about anywhere, and if they actually charged you that amount, everyone would only fly one way.  BUT...if you pad the price for a nice profit on a round trip ticket and make the one way fare so outrageously expensive (intentionally) then you made twice the money on someone who you'll only have to service one time AND it will look like you sold more tickets.  Conspiracy theorists of the world, what do you think?
